Where did the evening go? I turned around and it was 11 PM! I got out of work and went shopping for a bit (whoops!), and when I got home around 7:30, I wanted a quick snack to power me up for a workout! So I made a Strawberry-Mango Mini-Smoothie! This smoothie had 56g strawberries, 31g mango, 1 tbsp flax, 1.5 oz of unsweetened almond milk, and 2 oz nonfat vanilla yogurt.

Pre workout snack had 125 calories, 20g carbs, 3g fat, and 3g protein.

So, (brace yourselves) - Peter doesn’t have a TV…. Sigh. It’s a huge point of contention. He does however have 42 inch monitor in his living room for his computer and Wii. Boys. Go figure. Of course, at my apt, I have a tv in every room, cable, DVR, the whole nine years. But here, nada. I actually don’t miss it. I don’t watch mindless television anymore. If I want to see a certain show, I can watch it on the channel’s website, and even Netflix let’s you watch movies right on your computer. But sometimes, if there is a particular show on that I can’t wait a day to upload to the channel’s website, I watch it at the gym. I really wanted to see the NBC shows tonight, so I went to the gym, got on a treadmill (and later, a bike) , and poof - 1 1/2 hrs gone by. Now, of course, I had the levels pretty low, so it was more of a stroll, but it was really relaxing and a win-win situation - I got to see my shows and exercise. Just like taking a really long walk - with tv! :) Calories burned: 565.

So when I got home, I just wanted something simple and fresh. I don’t know about you guys, but I feel so much better when I have a whole bunch of fresh fruits and veggies in my stomach - like I’m glowing from the inside. So I made a quick Spinach, Feta, and Strawberry Salad: 51g spinach, 91strawberries, 73g carrots, 26g celery, 39g tomatoes, 23g greek yogurt, tsp Champagne Mustard, 1/2 oz feta. Serves 1. I like to put my salads in containers even when I’m at home, so I can shake everything up and get it good and mixed.

Along with it, I had a whole wheat pita and a wedge of Light Laughing Cow Herb and Garlic cheese:

All together:

Dinner was 246 calories, 36g carbs, 5g fat, and 13g protein.

I’ve realized that I’m much happier with these lighter dinners. What’s that saying? - Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper. Sounds good to me! Yawn! Night!
