I was hoping to get it together last night and pack lunch for today, but it didn’t happen. Bad Kate! I hate buying lunch: it’s a waste of money, a waste of food I have at home, and takes a chunk out of my day. Tonight I have to get my lunch packed - it’s a must!
I wanted to do something different than my usual Guy and Gallard, so I tried a new, local sandwich shop. As I’ve said before, I usually don’t eat straight meat. I may have eggs, honey, and fish but rarely meat itself. But they had a ‘Thanksgiving Wrap’ and it was calling my name. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is afterwards - the ‘Thanksgiving Sandwich’ - turkey, stuffing, squash, parsnips, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, peas, mayo - basically all of Thankgiving on toasted whole wheat. AMAZING. I live for those guys. Their wrap contained turkey, cranberry sauce, lettuce and tomato.
The meat and cranberry sauce were good, but the lettuce and tomato were kind of flavorless. I think I’ll go back there anyway though - it looked promising. I also had 9 huge strawberries:
These guys were delicious! I’m really full now, oy. All together:
Lunch was 534 calories, 74g carbs, 8g fat, and 41g protein.
So tonight I’m definitely going to have time to hit up the pool because our reservation isn’t until 9:15. We’re going to dinner at Del Posto. What would you get?

Mmm, those strawberries!! So luscious.
I can’t make a personal meal recommendation from that menu; but I hope that you enjoy it tonight!! :0)
Thanksgiving in wrap form? Yum!
As for that menu, I tried looking it over but had no idea what about 95% of the stuff on it was! So I have NO clue what I would end up ordering but I hope you enjoy and let us know what you ended up picking!
del posto…FANCY!!!! i pass by it all the time while running. i have no idea what i’d get, but something yummy!!
the handmade pastas are amazing. get a filled pasta for sure. I would get a pasta tasting. the desserts are wonderful. olive oil gelato is a must.
haha im definitely one of the only people I know that doesn’t care for thanksgiving & thanksgiving leftovers sandwiches. just never got into the whole cranberry, turkey, mashed potato & gravy craze. hmph.
i do like turkey wraps though…so it still looks amazing! i just wouldnt get the cran sauce!
MMMM! I love Txgiving, it’s my favorite holiday. I make “Thanksgiving casserole” for my family. Layer from the bottom up, mashed potatoes, turkey, gravy, corn, cranberry sauce, stuffing. It’s really good, and the best part is that you can change up any of the ingredients.
Okay, this is so gross. But my brother has always had this dream of putting all the thanksgiving foods into a smoothie. He calls it “thanksgiving in a bottle,” which he sings to the tune of message in a bottle.
We might not actually be related because I can hardly stand for my food to touch.
VG- I’m so in love with strawberries right now! They’re perfectly in season!
Kristie - I have no idea what some of that stuff was either! I just picked out key words i knew to kind of get an idea of what the dish was like. Fake it til you make it!
Betsy - I bet that’s a beautiful run down the West Side Highway!
Marge - You’re not kidding about the desserts! They had this white chocolate and crispy rice cookie that melted it your mouth. Oy. Just amazing.
Glidingcalm - The cran sauce didn’t really taste like thanksgiving as much as just a sweet and fruity spread. Plus with just lettuce and tomatoe and no other real ‘Thanksigving’-y things, it takes like a fruity turkey wrap, haha!
Tina o.! - I love that - Thanksgiving casserole! What a great idea!
Arielle - This is why I’m glad I only have sisters - I don’t think I could stomach a meat and stuffing smoothie!
