Despite going to bed at 10:30 last night with all my daily chores completed (go me!), I woke up late this morning and had to scramble to make it to my doctor’s appointment. (Side note: I feel awesome this morning - getting to bed early really did wonders!) I got to my 9:30 appt at 9:45 - whoops! It was okay, because I don’t think they were ready for me…while I was waiting in the exam room I overheard my doctor and the office manager having a pretty heated discussion. Awkward.
Anyway, good news at my appt: my nose looks great. My doctor is really happy with the results and said that I am going to see a huge improvement in the next 2 to 3 weeks. While I was there, he (WARNING: GROSS) cleaned out my nose, which consisted of a huge wire that he rammed all the way up and blew tons of air around. Man, it hurt - but oh my goodness, I can breathe now!!! My nose feels so stretched and wide - like I have two highways going up my face! And, best news of all, he said I can go back to the gym! He said I have to take it slow, and not go too crazy, but that I can go! Woohoo! I know where I’ll be this afternoon! I have a follow up appt with him in three weeks, so hopefully I’ll have the full results then!
When I got to work, I had my breakfast that I made last night: carrot cake muesli. This was a little different in that I had to use chopped carrots instead of shredded (stick blender broke), and I used lemon extract instead of almond. The lemon extract was awesome! It made it taste more ‘cakey’. Forgot the flax though, boo. So this was 1/2c oatmeal, 1/2 nonfat vanilla yogurt, 77g carrots, 35g raisins, lemon and vanilla extracts:
Breakfast was 366 calories, 77g carbs, 3g fat, and 12g protein.
Have a great day guys!

Awesome news from your doc. Have a good time at the gym this evening!! You’re breakfast looks like a good combo, it reminds me of carrot salad.
Thanks Brittany, it was really good - the lemon extract was the punch.

I’m so in love with tempeh - wild rice is my favorite version. last week bryan made some with veggie baked beans and it was crazy delicious!
side note: i can’t stand that high fructose corn syrup is in so many foods! so ricidulous and unnessary. i’ve pretty much eliminated it from my diet as well. Goes hand in hand with processed foods.
I’m glad you’re breathing and feeling better!
