  • Rewind Lunch

This lunch was actually the dinner that Peter brought home for me last night that I was too full to eat. It consisted of a grilled chicken sanwich with peppers and mozzarella:

I ended up only eating one half of this sandwich because it was so filling/caloric. On the side, I had a trough of salad:

Biggest salad ever right? I mixed in 1/2 pint of berries. I only had 1/2 of the salad trough because it was huge. To round out lunch, I had 1/2 a Whole Food Country Square: Apple Ginger Spice flavor:

IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. Oh my goodness. It reminded me of this apple crumble they served at camp when I was a kid (although I bet this was alot better nutritionally). Seriously, I couldn’t believe what I was tasting…this guy puts other bars to shame. I will never look at my beloved Luna bars the same. :( Although, despite delicious, it is a little caloric (240 kcals for this guy - which is why I split it in half for snack later), and not too much protein (6g). Whatever, I kept smelling the wrapper after it was done, haha - so that’s a good bar in my book!

Lunch was 584 calories, 55g carbs, 17g fat, and 56g protein.

Tonight I’m hitting the gym real quick, then meeting up with Eva at Bar Pitti for drinks outside - my favorite type of summer night! :) Off to jump in a meeting, bye guys!

I really need to get my hands on those bars! I found the planks (and love them) but now I wanna try these too! Maybe I’ll try and track them down while grocery shopping tonight. I LOVE grocery shopping! Can’t wait for tonight ;)

It’s always great when you can get two lunches for the price of one!

I have never been a fan of luna bars–too protein-tasting, but I like Clif Zbars, Keribars, Kashi TLC Crunchy–caramel chocolate, and Gnubars if your looking for lower calories options-120-160 each.

Oh, the whole reason I wanted to comment. have fun at Bar Pitti, I’ve never been, but always wanted to check out. Lil sis of Da Silvano, so it has to be pretty yummy.

I’ve made the mistake of going to the gym AFTER going for drinks…not a good idea!

That salad looks great. I love berries together with veggies, especially this time of year.

I just started to read your blog, and I just wanted to comment on the binge eating. I currently planned to gain weight after going down to 102 pounds on my 5′2″ frame. I ended up talking with a counselor and seeing a dietician to help me gain weight in a healthy way. I would starve myself, and then binge when I would eat a snack. I have found that when I turn to food to overeat there is something that I am feeling that I need to talk about. So I have made an effort to talk to my close friends and boyfriend about what I am feeling at the times that I feel the need to overeat to deal with my emotions. I am working on a healthy mentality towards food in that it is there to nourish my body. Also, with my snacks I have decided to set them out to portion control. I will scoop out my hummus and get crackers out on a plate so I do not mindlessly eat from the containers. good luck as you figure out what works for you!
