I woke up this morning on the dot at 7 AM feeling awake but tired. I set about my ‘wake up’ routine: check email, blog, etc, when I realized I’d rather be in bed. Usually once I’m up, I’m up - but today I could feel I needed the extra sleep - I didn’t get to sleep until 1 AM. :( So I climbed back into my warm and snuggly bed - P was ecstatic. :)

Since I finished my office cereal yesterday, I stopped off at Balducci’s this morning to try a new type. I don’t usually like to go to Balducci’s (kinda pricey), but it literally steps from my front door and I was in a time crunch. This is what I came up with:

Nature’s Path Organic Optimum Zen (for Inner Harmony). Cranberry and Ginger sounded like an interesting combination - and who couldn’t use more inner harmony? 1 1/4C with 1c nonfat milk and a banana with the threatening spoon in the background:

    That cereal knows what’s coming.

Two things: a) In this whole big bowl, I saw like two cranberries - lame. and 2) They should change the name to Optimum Mush. It got mushy so fast! Maybe that’s why you have inner harmony after eating it - you’re mellowed out with a stomach full of mush. Still, it was better than some cereals out there.

So, I’m in a little bit of a smart-alecky mood, but better than yesterday. I’ve got work, then CSA pickup, then some gym time, followed by packing and cleaning of the apt. And if I have time, I’d like to bake some goodies for Peter. I’ll be gone all weekend and if I don’t leave him something, he might starve! :P (Or subsist soley on milkshakes.)

Too bad the cereal wasn’t so great, but I’m glad your day is starting off better than yesterday!
I must have missed this, but where are you going this weekend??

Thanks for the review! Now I know to steer clear of that! Have you tried the new Kashi GoLEAN Crunch Honey Almond Flax? Mmm!

I HATE buying a cereal and getting stuck with a box thats so-so. You feel like you HAVE to eat it because you paid for it, but you hate to waste calories on something you don’t quite enjoy. i guess we should all be grateful we have so many food choices anyways!

the optimum power is the same with the dried blueberries. i think there are 4 in the entire box. FALSE ADVERTISING

Justy - Sorry I spaced and didn’t fill you all in - I’m going to Newport and then Scituate, MA to visit my sisters and grandma and cousins!

Ashley - I’ve tried alot of Kashi - but I don’t think that one - I’ll seek it out and let you know.

Lindsey - That’s my thought process exactly! “I hate this, but I have to eat it, but what a waste, but I’m lucky.” Haha.

Besty - Shame on you, Nature’s Path, SHAME ON YOU.

    - Kate
