  • Loaded Afternoon, Loaded Dinner

My afternoon turned out to be busy, busy, busy. We’re painting a mural at work, so that kept me moving. Around 3 PM, I had a coconut bar to cool off:

With our lovely project in the background.

I got off work a little later than usual and headed to a new NYSC to try a Total Body Conditioning class (basically weight lifting). I like the one that I take at my normal gym, so I was hoping that this one was good. I was a little early for class, so I did 15 min of elliptical to warm up.

I was definitely disappointed in this class. :( The instructor wasn’t motivating and wasted alot of time getting the class into new positions. There was alot of standing around - it was hard to keep my heart rate up! Despite taking lots of times between moves, she didn’t really explain them all that well. Boo. I still got a decent calorie burn for the time. Elliptical and TBC Class = 618 calories burned.

Before I left the office I had a Pre Workout Snack of a Honey Graham Z bar:

It was good, but I’m still partial to Chocolate Chip.

After I left the gym, I ran some errands before my appt at 8:30 (I originally thought it was at 8:15, but I must have misheard - I was early!). By the time I finished that and ran some other errands, I was close to 10 when I walked through the door. Famished, I made a quick, filling, protein-rich dinner.

I had a sandwich LOADED with goodies: turkey, red pepper, cabbage, organic American cheese, and mustard:

Isn’t it colorful? I just realized as I was writing this that I basically just had my lunch again (Turkey sandwich, Fage) - but in my defense, Peter just bought a whole bunch of deli turkey that needed to be used up! Ah well, it was delicious. I thought the peppers were a great addition!

And, like I said, 1/2c 0% Fage with a little honey and a tbsp Strawberry Rhubard jam:

Obviously I didn’t plan too well today.

Oh well - just trying to do my best! Night guys!

    Kate-
I know the feeling of taking a class that doesn’t leave you feeling like you had a good workout!! I have my favorite instructors and try to stick to them!
Also, you may have mentioned it before, but what do you do at work? Art type stuff? Looks fun!

Tracy - Re bad classes, such a let down. I’m an office manager at a small advertising agency, so I do alot of different stuff: HR, Operations, Accounts Payable/Receivable, plus I’m the assistant to the CEO. Yawn. :P

    Hi Kate!

Which NYSC did you go to? I’ve been looking for a *good* TBC class around 5:30 or 6:30; I’ve been disappointed with the one at Rockefeller Center on Wednesdays.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
