    Hey guys,

Sorry I didn’t get you guys a dinner post last night - I was just really tired. I’m having a tough time adjusting back to daily life - even though it was only a mini-vacay! Last night I got out of work fairly early. My dinner plans fell through, so I invited my friend Eva over for wine and dinner.

Before I left the office, I had my Honest Foods Choco P’nut Butter square. Of course, it was amazing. Although I have to admit, so many people do chocolate/peanut butter - I kind of like Honest Foods for their interesting combinations (lemon and cranberry? AWESOME). So of course, it was good - but there’s alot of items out there to compare it to.

Coincidentally, the lovely people at Honest Foods sent me some of their planks to try. So we I got home from work, I had a snack before Eva came over. I had half a Pomegranate Walnut Crisp Plank with 1/2c hemp milk:

See that walnut on top? YUM! Now this is what I’m talking about inspired combinations. This was sooooo good - so fragrant and wonderful. I absolutely loved it - chewy, crunchy, sweet, tangy. Just amazing. I cannot wait to try the other flavors.

Eva came over and we started on some wine:

I had about 2.5 glasses over the course of the night. We chatted for a while, then decided to make dinner: we settled on organic Mac and Cheese with CSA peas and broccoli:

YUM! Really great combo, and I’m glad we used the CSA stuff. For dessert, Eva brought Billy’s cupcakes:

I had the blue one. :)

We had some great convos and then she left. P came home after a bit and I crashed out early. No C25K run - too sunburnt!

This morning I woke up late, and then had to handle some stuff first thing - grr. P got me a new cereal to try this morning: Peace Maple Raisin

10% of profits donated to peace? I don’t know how that works….is there a Peace, Inc somewhere that I don’t know about? Your local neighborhood Peace shop? Selling harmony and brotherhood? Where’s the cereal Happiness - 10% of profits donated to happy? Hmm…anyway, Peace, Inc makes some darn good cereal - it was so crunchy - down to the very last bite! HUGE change from Optimum Mush. I really dug this cereal - I’m going to try some of their other types.

I had 1 1/4c with 3/4c nonfat milk (we ran out), and a small banana:

    Really good.

    Happy Tuesday guys!

You crack me up! I was wondering the same thing about “peace”. Quit your job and be a comedic writer!!

BTW, congrats on the 5K decision. I’m a big runner (actually little, but you know what I mean…) and I have tons of (practical) advice if you ever need any!

I want free Honest Foods samples! Maybe I’ll start a blog just for that reason, ha! ;)
The one product of theirs that I have tried (blueberry plank) is soooo good…mix it in some oatmeal with blueberries and YUM! My new favorite! And they’re so big so you can use them 4+ times for one bar! Thank goodness considering they’re kinda expensive…
Oh…and the cupcakes look delicious! I’m gonna hafta come to NY some day and have some from Billy’s!

This question is for anyone who cares to answer. I tried the Choco P’Nut Butter squares from Honest Foods, and while they were DELICIOUS, they tasted nothing like chocolate or peanut butter to me. I was tasting a more citrus undertone (lemon, maybe?). I don’t usually have problems tasting things, and I would buy them again, even though they don’t have a very strong peanut butter and chocolate flavor, but I was just wondering if it’s just me, or if maybe the batch was off? Just curious! :-)

VeggieGirl - Re routine, I hope so!

Jess - Re comedic writer, I WISH! Re 5k, Thanks! Do you have like a ‘greatest hits’ or ‘top 10 (or 15, or 20, or whatever) of advice for new runners? I’d love to hear it! Shoot me an email!

Betsy - I want to donate to unity…can someone hook that up?

Justy - Start a blog! Do it - I’d read. Can’t wait to try the blueberry planks!

Meghan - That kind references what I said in the post. Honest Foods does special combinations so well, that when they do a standard combo - there’s so much to compare it to, that’s easier to be dissatisfied or think it tastes off. I don’t know - I prefer their special stuff.

Melissa S. - In my WF, they’re by the checkout line. Re lactose intolerant, I’d be so sad! I love cheese/milk

Chandra - Thanks for the link - your blog looks awesome, good luck with it!

    - Kate
