Well, I made it through the rest of the afternoon without a snack. I wasn’t really hungry for one, so I decided to let it slide. Well, that may not have been the best idea seeing how our dinner reservations weren’t til 8:30 PM. I did have an iced tea though:
Eva came over after work and we palled around for a while in my apt. I’m redecorating, so we were looking at different swatches and furniture options. I LOVE home furnishings!
Around 7, we got hungry, so we broke into a bag of unsalted peanut butter pretzels. I had about 15 (unpictured). We also got into a bag of pretzel things too - I had about 5. Then we split a container of raspberries. Not the best snack, but not the worst. I only wish I had planned it a little better. Trying to go from 1 PM lunch to 8:30 PM dinner was a silly thought - I’ll know better next time.
We met up with Lauren and Jaclyn, and Lauren’s sister Erica (hope I’m spelling that right!) at Pure Food and Wine at a little past 8:30. PFAW is a raw and organic resturaunt and I love it! All the dishes there are so delicious and creative!
We started of with a pitcher of sangria for the table. Here’s my glass:
For appetizers, the 5 of us split the following dishes:
Asparagus Sushi
Cashew Cheese and Crackers
Some sort of ravioli? Lauren loved this one!
For an entree, I had a mushroom burger:
It.was.so.good!!! That pickle was amazing - and that creamy stuff at the end (whatever it was) was incredible! That pickle was the best one I’ve ever had in my entire life. And the bun was like an Ezekiel bun X 10 - so doughy and full of grains - LOVED IT. I ate about 70% of the whole plate.
For desert, the five of us split a thin mint sundae (made from coconut milk)
and a slice of carrot cake:
I probably had about 7 bites of the desserts.
All in all, I thought I did well. I didn’t plan on having a drink, but since we got a pitcher, I felt like I should partake. I don’t think I overindulged - but since I just had dessert the night before at my cousins’s, maybe I should have taken 1 bite each and quit. I felt a little full afterwards, but I nice walk home solved that.
This morning, I woke up late. By the time I got cleaned up and dressed, ran errands for work, and got to the office, it was 10:30! I ate breakfast right away. 1c Honey Clusters Fiber 1 and 1c milk:
And a small bowl of fruit from breakfast day:
Summer Friday today so I’ll be out of the office at 2 - woohoo! Then I’ve got my trainer at 5, and tonight I’ve been asked out on a date.
(Don’t worry, it’s with P!) This weekend looks pretty slow and I’m glad - I need some serious down time after the past couple weeks. Happy Friday!

Hooray for Pure Food and Wine!! :0D
Happy Friday!!
Everything from that restaurant looks awesome! If I ever visit NY I’ll hafta make a trip there!
Enjoy the rest of your Friday!
I’m definitely getting hungry looking at all of the delicious foods you had for dinner. WOW. That mushroom burger sounds absolutely amazing. And I love how the plate managed to provide you with the best pickle you’ve ever had, now THAT’s impressive haha
That food looks incredibly delicious! Don’t you just love it when healthy food tastes like heaven instead of like cardboard? (Example: the original fiber one cereal!)
I have a really random question that I’ve been meaning to ask. I noticed you mentioned the mural your in charge of in your office and I’m curious as to what your job is. I’m at art school and when I hear mural, my ears perk right up! (Even thought I’m majoring in fibers as opposed to painting…hahaha)
mmmh…Sangria! It’s been awhile.
oooo sangria! white sangria is really good, too. i like the traditional red more, and those pieces of fruit are just divine!
i hope the trainer went well!
Hey, Kate! I was catching up with your blog, and I wanted to tell you - the bread you call “that great nutty wheat” from Guy & Gallard? I’m almost positive it’s Eli’s Health Loaf (aka The Only Bread I Will Eat.) It is AWESOME, has 3-6 grams of fiber per slice (depending on whether you get the small or large loaf), and contains nothing but 100% whole wheat, sunflower seeds, yeast, and honey. I buy it at Fairway, where it’s freshest and cheapest, but you can get it at many grocery stores in NYC. Just thought I’d share the love by letting you know!
Meghan - I’m the office manager of a 12 person office, which means I do everything from personal assistant work to HR to Accounts Payable/Receivable to maintaining the office, ie. the mural.
Kim - THANK YOU!!! I will look out for that!
