  • Classic Lunch

    Hey guys!

After a healthy and filling lunch, some Olympics-watching, and my favorite - listening to classical music while reading - I’m feeling so much more positive and rested.  After I post this, I’m off to listen to more classical while reading magazines in bed. :D

I sat down for lunch around 3:15 - not so bad considering I didn’t have breakfast until 10:30, but a little behind schedule for sure.  Peter got more of the amazing whole wheat challah rolls, so I used those for lunch.  Turkey sandwich with laughing cow cheese and a bunch of CSA veggies: peppers, two types of tomatoes, and greens:

On the side, I had 1/2c 0% Fage and 1/4c Cranberry Trail MIx and a bit of honey:

    All together:

Fab.  And I am wearing the following t-shirt today, which just makes my existance:

    Man that is awesome.

At some point this evening, I have to hit the gym and do my C25K run.  All in good time.  Happy Friday!!

Where did you get that shirt??? Love Back to the Future!!!

  • Saturday, August 23rd, 2008 at 00:14 | #9

Everyone - Thanks! That shirt is thebomb.com

Laura Brandon - Oh I’m so glad! Welcome to WFWS!

Diane - It’s a line from a Huey Lewis and the News song called ‘The Power of Love’ that was featured in Back to the Future. The complete refrain is

“You don’t need money, don’t take fame
Don’t need no credit card to ride this train
Its strong and its sudden and its cruel sometimes
But it might just save your life
    That’s the power of love
    That’s the power of love”

I love all this Back to the Future, Michael J. Fox, and Huey Lewis - so it gets mentioned quite a bit.

    Tracy - cafepress.com Meeee tooo!

    - Kate

Hey - have been reading your blog for a while but never commented - but thought it was about time I introduced myself! (I feel like a bit of a lurker/intruder otherwise!!!). I really enjoy your blog and I really identify with some of the stuff you say - mostly to do with othereating/binging. It only ever happens when I’m bored at home and then I hate myself for it - I’m trying to get over that at the moment especially as I’m underweight. But it so difficult and I totally sympathise. What I find great about food blogs is that people are honest about their feelings towards food and it helps me so much - that I’m not the only one that feels that way and helps me find ways to develop a more healthy relationship with food.

However, I must disagree with you on the t-shirt!!!!! I can’t LIVE without my credit card - I’d be lost! Ha ha. I thought that roll was brioche at first which I thought was a bit weird.

So jealous you live in NYC - it is number 1 on my list of places I want to visit and I really want to come over and work there for a bit (I live in London, UK).
Anyway - love the blog and keep up the great work. (and the product reviews are fab although I don’t think I can get most of the products in the UK).
