  • Random Dinner

    Hey guys,

You’ll have to excuse my dinner choice and video post today - I’m exausted!  My workout with MaryBeth was scheduled for 6 PM tonight, and of course, I got hung up at work.  I finally got out with 30 min to make it downtown, change and warm-up.  As I was walking over, my hunger really kicked in.  I broke into my Product of the Week for a Pre Workout Snack:

My workout with MaryBeth was awesome - I really felt like we got some work done.  I wanted to go do some extra cardio before I left, but the gym was totally packed and I just wanted to go home.  Training Session with MaryBeth = 421 calories burned.

After getting back, I wanted to have a small snack and wait to have a full dinner when Peter got home.  So I had a tbsp PB, tbsp jam on a whole wheat chollah roll:

But this PB&J only intensified my hunger.  So I had an Amy’s burrito and a banana:

    Told you it was random.

Usually when I eat really randomly like this, it can turn into a binge easily - but this was okay.  I had a coconut bar a few hours later:

As I mentioned earlier, here’s this week’s product of the week: Coconut Creme Pie Larabar.  (You’ll have to excuse me - I was so exausted when I made this video, so I’m totally out of it.  :P)

    Enjoy!

You were pronouncing it right, their named after a woman named Lara. :)

I loved that flavor to, it was more deserty than other larabars, but you still NEED to try the PB cookie, it’s defintely the best!

    Get ready for this:
Kate you are so cute in your little video blog.
Never expect another compliment as long as you live.
    Kisses!
PS We saw Penn Bagley with Blake Lively. That’s important.

I simply love your videos! They are so cute. I feel the same way about luna bars vs lara bars.. except the one that changed my mind was the apple pie one! Mmmmmm. I still don’t think anything can beat the cookies and cream or chocolate raspberry luna bars for me, though!

mmm i love chollah bread! my roomie is jewish and buys chocolate chip chollah all the time. SO GOOD! whole wheat sounds healthier though ;) maybe there’s a whole wheat chocolate chip kind out there! looks to me like you did a great job with not binging & ate all the food groups and reg. portion sizes.

Hey, Kate! I wanted to mention that the skyr you bought at WF isn’t really yogurt — it’s this super-tart Icelandic “cultured dairy product” that’s pretty hard to find in the U.S. (hence the exorbitant price tag.) Personally I think it’s an acquired taste ;)

    Hey Kate!

Whats with the urge to keep eating after a random dinner?? I totally get you on this. If I make a dinner, eat it all at one time, usually ok. However, if I’m hungry, eat a little something…something more…all downhill from there! Just so you know, you aren’t alone in your struggles! I usually only overeat in THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! I’m half asleep before I even realize whats happening. I can manage during the day, but a night, its a whole other story. Anyways, long post, sorry! I think if I stick to my eating “rules” I am much better off. However, I feel like this isn’t “normal eating.” But I guess a “normal eater” isn’t prone to bingeing… Anyhow, I’m really done now =) Have a great day!

    Kate and Theresa,

When I was in my “non-normal eating” stage I was totally the girl that restricted in the daytime (but I was still eating 3 meals a day, just not calorically dense enough…think 1,200 calories!) but at night, if I was SO hungry that I just HAD to eat an extra snack, I would feel so shamed (weird, who was judging my eating…no one!) and then I would just snack and snack (ahem, binge) until my stomach HURT. As I’ve said before, once you’re eating enough calories/protein/fat/carbs in the daytime, the binging eventually stops! I eat the majority of my calories in the daytime and eat a smaller, later dinner so I’m not full but I’m definitely not hungry when I go to bed. It’s worked wonders!

    I love WF salad bars!!!!!

    Jaclyn - Good one!

    Natalie - Will do!

Eva - doi. But thank you.

Nicole - LOVE cookies and cream luna - but I ADORE chocolate peppermint.

Andrea - THANKS! My old roommate, Eva (who’s Jewish) turned me on to chollah. Can you believe I never had it before a year or two ago?

Kim - Good to know! Maybe it really was $2.79…

Theresa and Meghan - It’s tough. I tend to want to stick to ‘eating rules’ too, because they’re easy. I know what I can’t and can do. But when try to be more flexible and blur the lines, binging happens. It’s true though - whenever I eat enough during the day, I don’t binge usually (unless it’s 100% emotional). I can tell you though - I’m pretty done with binging. It’s getting on my last nerve.

    VG- :D

    - Kate
