  • Big Ol’ Lunch

Mmm…I loved this lunch. It felt nice to have a packed lunch instead of having to do the ‘lunchtime scramble’. I’m feeling a little restless though - a bunch of my deadlines got pushed back, which is great in theory - but I’m definitely one of those people who thrive under pressure. When I have 20 things to do in 1 hr, I’ll get 15 done. If I have 5 things to do in 3 hrs, I’ll be lucky if I get 1 or 2 done. Anyone else like that? I tried to hit all the food groups with this lunch, and I think I did a pretty good job.

Smoked salmon, Laughing Cow, and Spinach on Whole Wheat Double Fiber bread, with a pickle:

    Grain, Vegetable, Protein/Meat, Dairy

    Carrots:

    Vegetable

And watermelon! My first pieces of the summer, can you believe it? I just had a craving for some, and luckily the grocery store had 1/2 watermelons pre-sliced. P thought I was such a nut searching for watermelon last night! He kept calling me Little Miss Watermelon - as in, ‘Little Miss Watermelon over here is dragging me around New York City at 11 PM on Labor Day.’ :D Bless him.

5 slices total, but 3 were super small/thin.

    Fruit

    Today’s flowers:

So a bit of a less crazy day than I was expecting, which is nice but slightly disappointing. Looks like I will have time for an afternoon workout. Good one!

I’m about to head into a meeting and then I’ve got to crack down. I’ve either got to deep clean my desk and organize all these random papers OR I’ve got to write big time. I’m tempted to organize, it’s hard for me to work in a messy space, but I don’t want to get in too deep with that and forget about my real assignments…hmm…

PS. Sorry if you tried to check the site earlier and it was down! I was on the phone with BlueHost and WFWS.com should be good to go from here on out.

I’ve got to start packing lunch and stop buying it on campus all the time! It’s getting far too expensive. Your lunch looks good!

Hi! I just started reading your blog and I already love it! Just a quick question, how do you know how many calories you burned?

Yummmmm, watermelon :) I just bought a nice juicy one and if I had no self-restraint I could probably eat the entire thing in one sitting. It really fills me up though…must be all that water!

I am the same way under pressure! I get so much more done when i have a lot to do… That’s why i am super excited about being back in school and super busy! Glad to see you packed your lunch- I pack mine everyday and I try to keep it as interesting as possible, but it does get a little boring sometimes… but definately cheaper and for the most part healthier for me!

Nicole - I hate buying - I really need to get in the habit of packing too!

Hangry, Veggie, and Danielle - Those yellow flowers still look great 3 days later!

Brendali - Yay, welcome to WFWS! Sorry I’ve been so busy lately, I’m usually not this MIA! I wear a heart rate monitor when I work out, so I always know how much I burn. It’s great!

Justy - There are worse things to eat in one sitting! :D

Jess - Oh, yay - I thought I was alone in that pressure/productiveness thing!

    - Kate
