Boy, lunch was unintentionally caloric today.  It was delicious though, so it’s okay.  This afternoon I ran a couple errands that I had been postponing but in the spirit of just do it, I just did them. :)   Post office, birthday present shopping, etc, etc.  On my way back to the office, I dropped into Europa Cafe to pick up lunch.  I picked out the lemon tuna wrap: no mayo, but with capers, tomatoes, celery – sounded like something I would make at home:

I was doubley pleased to see that they had the nutritional info legibly and accessibly posted on the website.  Only fitting, seeing as this wrap was doubley caloric!  I was shocked!  Almost 700 calories for this tiny little guy, boo.  After snooping around the site, I see that I should have gotten a pressed sandwich: a much more reasonable 300-400 cal.  Le sigh.  Live and learn.  I’ll know for next time.

I also had some nonfat cottage cheese and blueberries, swoon.

All together, my super heavy lunch:

Lunch was 873 calories, 93g carbs, 21g fat, and 76g protein!!

This baby better power me up all afternoon and evening.  After work, I’m heading uptown to my apt (as opposed to P’s apt) to get my mail and do some stuff around there.  Then I’m meeting up with the birthday girl, Eva, and some friends to go see the Sex and the City Movie!! Swoon!  I can’t wait!  This will be the first of many viewings, I’m sure.  P won’t admit it, but he wants to see it too, so I’m going to have to “drag” him there this weekend.  Did you guys here they’ve greenlit a Sex and the City Movie 2?? Swoon again!  Bye guys!

Hey guys, today for lunch Peter and I decided to order in.  I’m feeling alot better than I did this morning, so I’m hoping to have a super productive afternoon.  I wanted to try another wrap, so we ordered in from Bully’s. This wrap wasn’t as good as last time, but it was still really tasty.  This was grilled veggies on a spinach wrap with Fontina cheese:

I would have liked this better if it had less cheese and more veggies.  Plus I got some fruit:

Really good.  Then, on the spur of the moment, I decided I wanted a chocolate from the box:

I’m estimating lunch at 700 calories. Plan for the afternoon is to hit the gym in about an hour, then run some errands, speed clean the apt, and (if I have time) bake something to bring to my friend Ellen’s BBQ tomorrow.  All before we have to be in midtown at 6.  Whew.  Better get cracking!

Well, I was not vigilant about the sunscreen yesterday and now I’m all red and sore today. Grr. It’s my own fault. It’s officially summer – I need to break out the SPF!

This morning I slept in :) and then Peter arrived home! YAY! After some goofing around the apt, we decided to order in. I got a spinach wrap with grilled veggies and avocado:

And a container of fresh fruit that I split with Peter:

Yum! That wrap was delicious! I’m estimating lunch at 500 calories.

The plan for the afternoon is to clean the apt (desperately overdue) and hit up the gym (although I’m not sure how well that will work with my sunburn). Tonight Peter and I are going to a new place for his ‘welcome back’ dinner, Quintessence. What would you get?

I was hoping to get it together last night and pack lunch for today, but it didn’t happen. Bad Kate! I hate buying lunch: it’s a waste of money, a waste of food I have at home, and takes a chunk out of my day. Tonight I have to get my lunch packed – it’s a must!

I wanted to do something different than my usual Guy and Gallard, so I tried a new, local sandwich shop. As I’ve said before, I usually don’t eat straight meat. I may have eggs, honey, and fish but rarely meat itself. But they had a ‘Thanksgiving Wrap’ and it was calling my name. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is afterwards – the ‘Thanksgiving Sandwich’ – turkey, stuffing, squash, parsnips, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, peas, mayo – basically all of Thankgiving on toasted whole wheat. AMAZING. I live for those guys. Their wrap contained turkey, cranberry sauce, lettuce and tomato.

The meat and cranberry sauce were good, but the lettuce and tomato were kind of flavorless. I think I’ll go back there anyway though – it looked promising. I also had 9 huge strawberries:

These guys were delicious! I’m really full now, oy. All together:

Lunch was 534 calories, 74g carbs, 8g fat, and 41g protein.

So tonight I’m definitely going to have time to hit up the pool because our reservation isn’t until 9:15. We’re going to dinner at Del Posto. What would you get?

Did I mention that I’m wearing pink pants today?  I think everything is better on a day you’re wearing pink pants. :)

I grabbed coffee with my coworker so I could eat lunch at my desk while I took care of a few things.  I got an eggplant, mozzarella, and basil wrap from Guy and Gallard:

This was soooo good!  I also had a cup nonfat cottage cheese with street blueberries:

Delicious!  All together:

Really good, but filling!!  I feel completely satisfied and FULL.  Lunch was 593 calories, 66g carbs, 17g fat, and 46g protein! (To be safe, I’ve assumed this is whole fat mozzarella – better to err on the side of caution!)

Now on to an afternoon of work… :P

This lunch was inspired by a picnic sandwich my friend Gillian made for Opera in Central Park last year.  Gillian, who is currently teaching abroad in China (Miss you Gil!) made a sandwich consisting of a sandwich roll, goat cheese, all types of grilled veggies and cream cheese. SOOO delicious.  I made her recipe exactly for P and I to eat during the Halloween Parade, which we did, and they were awesome.  This time around I wanted to switch it up using the items I had in house.  I used a whole wheat tortilla, grilled summer squash from my salad last night, spinach and a Laughing Cow Light Original Swiss wedge:

I was going to do the goat cheese/cream cheese combo, but it seemed like such a hassle when I had the perfectly portioned Laughing Cow wedge right in front of me.  This was delicious!!  I love these tortilla wraps – so doughy and filling!  This was super simple and super good – the best kind of meal.  On the side I had 1/2c cottage cheese, and 1/4c Ezekiel Cereal:

This wasn’t as great as I was expecting.  I think the cereal needed to be sweeter in order to mix the sweet/salty taste with the cottage cheese.  I think this cereal should best be eaten with hemp milk.  Expect that experiment in the future!

All together:

Lunch was 388 calories, 55g carbs, 9g fat, and 27g protein. Not surprisingly, seeing as how this is a way smaller lunch than usual, I’m NOT full and I may need to have a snack again this afternoon.  I also see an iced coffee in my future… :)
